What colorization does, and does not do
- Natural skin tones, hair and eye colour consistent with the lighting in the photo.
- Fabric, uniforms, wood, brick and foliage in plausible period colours, not neon.
- Fading, dust and small cracks are repaired in the same pass, so you get one finished file.
- Sepia and hand-tinted prints are colour-corrected rather than painted over.
- It does not invent details, change expressions or add anything that is not in the picture.
- Exact colours of a specific dress or car cannot be known from a black-and-white image; the result is plausible, not documentary.

Questions people ask before their first photo
How does the AI know what colour things were?
It does not know; it infers plausible colour from the tones, textures and context in the image, the way a skilled colourist would. Skin, sky, foliage and common materials are reliable. The exact shade of one dress or car is a plausible choice, not a fact.
Can I keep the photo black-and-white and only repair it?
Yes. Colorization is part of the standard pass, but you can restore the photo and keep the black-and-white version; tell us at support@nncvision.com and we set it for your account.
Will it look fake or oversaturated?
The model is instructed to keep colour natural and period-appropriate, with the original grain and contrast. Compare the before and after above; nothing is stylised.
Will the face still look like them?
Yes. The restoration keeps every face, expression, age and accessory exactly as in the original. It repairs damage and returns natural colour; it does not beautify, re-age or re-imagine anyone.
Do I need a subscription?
No. One photo costs $5, pay as you go. If you have a box of photos, a monthly plan from $9.99 is cheaper per photo, and credits you buy never expire.
Are my photos private?
Photos are private to your account, transferred and stored encrypted, never used to train any model and never shared. Originals are deleted automatically 30 days after a finished restoration; you can delete anything sooner.
